Lisbon for Kids

Lisbon is a great city to visit with kids. There is culture, there is fun, there are tasty treats. It has a lot. Here we have some videos to help the parents visiting Lisbon and helping them find something special to do for their little ones. Some tips as well. Also, check out more general travel tips for kids at our Travel Tips for Parents and Kids page.

Parent Tip: Food times for kids

Remember: Many restaurants in Lisbon do not serve hot meals from 3pm to 7:30pm. In that time you are limited to fast food or snacks and sandwiches.

The Zoo Lots of Great Stuff! The Lisbon zoo is great. It is worth the entry (16 euros for adults). I was impressed, they have numerous animals, numerous shows, and a wonderful staff. Take the blue metro line to Jardim Zoologico (zoo in Portuguese) and follow the signs.

Tram 28: The cheap easy fun way to get around Lisbon

You do not have to pay the big ticket fee for the tourist tram. This will do it for you. It goes from the Basillica da Estrella (the park in the video below) to the Graca. It passes the castle, bairro alto, the baixa district, the cathedral. It is a great way to get around. And its a historical tradition here in Lisbon.

The Oceanarium and Expo: The expo, Red line metro “Oriente” has the oceanarium (great place to stop by, has fish and other marine life), 12 euros adults.
