How to learn Portuguese as a foreigner. This is something that many visitors to Wolters World have asked, and for that I have developed a series of language videos filmed all over Portugal to help you learn Portuguese. Basic Portuguese Phrases from Lisbon

The Basics of Portuguese: This group is perfect for the tourist. It has everything you need. Basic Phrases, Basic Verbs, Personal Pronouns, the verb “to be” and its differences in Portuguese, also there are tourist tips on eating in Portugal and using the trains, metro, and health and security concerns.

Time, Days of the Week and Counting: These videos focus on numbers, telling time, days of the week, months of the year, and topics of this nature. Vocabulary and examples are included.

Fun Vocabulary: Videos of vocabulary words that may be helpful, e.g. colors, food, adjectives.

Present Tense Verbs: Learn how to conjugate verbs in the present tense and the different meanings of “to be” ser/estar.

Past Tense Verbs: Learn how to conjugate verbs in the various forms of the past tense in Portuguese, ie imperfect, definitive and many more.

Future Tense Verbs: Learn how to use the future tenses in Portuguese.

Model Verbs: Should, Have to, to be able to (can), to want are discussed here and in the various tenses.

Continuous Time: “I am doing” “you are swimming” using estar to form continuous action in the present and past.

Conditional and Subjunctive Verb Tenses: The polite and “unsure” tenses.

Questions: This set of videos focus on question words and forming questions in Portuguese.

Adjectives, Adverbs, and Articles: Videos focusing on describing people/places and things (and verbs if you want to be technical) also looking at demonstrative adjectives.

Prepositions: Videos on general, time and place prepositions.

Direct and Indirect Objects and the Passive Voice:

Comparisons, equalities and Superlatives: Good, better, best and all the different ways to compare and contrast.

Grammar Help: These are a collection of videos dealing with finer points of grammar. Possesive, commands, flavor words, articles, yes/no, here and there.

Tourist tips: a collection of some tourist tips for traveling to Portugal.

Shopping: Learn the vocabulary, verbs, and some tips on shopping in Portugal.

Eating and Drinking: These videos help you know some of the tasty treats in Portugal, whether it is a Pastel de Belem (Custard Tart) or a Ginja (Cherry Liquor), and how to order them. Not to mention tips on the best dishes around.

Lisbon in a Day: See the Capital of Portugal in a day! Its doable and Mark and Sebastian head around on a whirlwind tour.

Lisbon for Kids: Here are some videos and recommendations for parents for when they bring their little ones to Lisbon.

    all of your videos are very helpful, very informative and motivating. not only that though is that i want to go to Portugal one day to see for myself , and seeing videos of it really is great till that day comes where i can go there.
    i’m just starting to learn through rosetta stone and online dictionaries, along with helpful websites like yours, and with so much to take in and with so many options, i dont know where to start.
    can you give me some advice on where to start?
