Learning German: Prepositions

German is rather tough in some regards and knowing what case goes with each preposition is difficult. Some make you use the accusitive case, some the dative, and some make you use both depending on what action you are taking. This page hopes to help you figure out some of the prepositions based on time, location, general prepositions and which tense they use.

Each of these prepositions can be used with “dativ” or “akkusativ” cases. You use dative when the object is stationary, and then you use accusative for when you are putting the item somewhere.
