Commands in German:

They say you “dust” the second person tense to make them commands. That is you drop the “du” and the “st” from the end and you have the command.
Example: Machen – to do, du machst – you do, and the command for do! is… Mach!
Notice how the du and st have dropped away.

There are two main groups of conjunctions for me. They are divided by where the verb of the sentence falls (if it is affected). 1. These do not affect word order, and – und, or – oder, as well – auch, rather – sondern, dann – then. 2. these make the verb go to the very end of the sentence (or part of the sentence after the conjunction) that – Dass, Because – Weil, If/When – wenn, When (exact date) – als.
